Welcome to the Euchre Club of Chicago weekly newsletter
-- a collection of event informtion, club news, gossip,
advice, and things that amuse us from the Internets. And
there's no truth to the rumor that we lost our pants, again,
at the ECC Halloween Party afterparty.
If you have ideas, gossip to divulge, humorous thoughts,
abject praise, rampant criticism, ideas to improve the club,
or you're just kinda lonely and want to talk, send a note to
euchrechicago@yahoo.com.

Treats and Tricks |

In case you missed the annual ECC Halloween party,
you can relive the memories through the photo
galleries on the club's website (click
here). Congratulations to Gregory Ward and Craig
Hines for winning the costume contest, and thanks to
everyone who participated.
And if you weren't there, you'll probably kick
yourself after you see the photos of the party and
the after party. Just imagine what photos didn't
make it onto the website...

Last Time, We Promise |

Unless you live under a rock, you should know by now
that Daylight Savings Time ends THIS SUNDAY,
November 4, which means before you go to bed
Saturday night, set your clocks back one hour. This
also means that play at Charlie's moves to 5pm
If you show up at 6pm on Sunday, we'll still be glad
to see you, but you'll be left playing with yourself
instead of with the club.

Things that Amuse us from the Internets - Part Two |
 |
In honor of Halloween. we wrap up a monthlong
look at some of the scariest films of all time . . .
re-enacted by animated bunnies. Yes, it's cooler
than it sounds.
In honor of this week's #1 box office movie, SAW
4, we take you back to where it all began with SAW.
No bunnies were harmed in the making of this movie.

Overheard at Euchre |
 |
"How come mine's not as milky as everyone
else's?"
- Thom Secson, not technically overheard at Euchre,
but since there were a lot of Euchreites standing in
the vicinity, it still counts. Oh, and we think Thom
as talking about his cocktail. Or perhaps he should
see a doctor.

Ask Hoyle |
 |
Dear Hoyle,
At the recent Tournament of Champions, one of
the board members was demonstrating a terrific
website that would be an ideal way for people with
webcams to communicate with each other using live
pictures. I'd love to send a webcam to my grandma in
Flint and chat with her via computer and the
Internet. Any chance of passing that website along?
- Can Anyone Make Me Yap?
Dear CAMMY:
Thanks to the power of the Internet, it's now
possible to converse with people all over the world
with a simple webcam and a microphone - at much
lower rates than AT&T. The website in question is
webcamnow.com
. If you want true streaming video, it's a pretty
low monthly fee, otherwise if you're satisfied with
30- second updates, the site is free. Oh, and be
sure you stay in the "Friends and Family" section.
Grandma probably shouldn't venture into the
"Unmonitored" section - and neither should you,
especially if you're reading this newsletter at
work. You've been warned.
